MECHANICAL FAILURE ENDS KREYER’S NIGHT
IN CULVER’S CHEVY AT ST. LOUIS BUSCH RACE

MADISON, Ill., JULY 21, 2007 Frank Kreyer’s second NASCAR BUSCH Series race in the Mac Hill Motorsports Culver’s® Racing #56 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS ended in disappointment tonight after a mechanical failure forced him to drop out of the Gateway 250 here at Gateway International Raceway on the 41st lap.

“We had a really good race car tonight,” said the 37-year-old short-track specialist from Wisconsin Dells.  “We started well and I was able to go deeper into corners than a lot of guys which allowed me to pass quite a few in the beginning.”

Kreyer, who qualified 38th out of the field of 43, was methodically moving up in the field before brake troubles curtailed his night.

“About lap 19 I hit the brakes and the pedal went to the floor,” he explained. “I drove the next 23 laps without brakes, brought the car in for what I thought might be a quick repair, but the problems were too extensive to allow us to continue.

“Yes, I am disappointed, but I came away from tonight with even more confidence I can drive this car competitively in this Series. I am very excited about next week’s race in Indy.”

Jack McNelly, Mac Hill Motorsports owner, shares Kreyer’s disappointment, “I see Frank getting more comfortable in the car, working with (crew chief) Tony Lambert and on the track, and then a part fails and we are finished.  Frustration is a part of racing, but we have another chance next week to experience the elation a solid performance can provide and we will go after it in Indianapolis.”

Kreyer’s BUSCH series races in the Culver’s Chevrolet continue July 28 in the Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park (Indianapolis) and then the November 10 Arizona.Travel 200 at Phoenix International Raceway.

“I feel bad for Jack, who has been really good to me this season, and Culver’s, which has been very supportive of my racing for many years and provided me with this opportunity to compete in NASCAR,” said Kreyer. “I know they are all behind me and I will continue to work hard to make them proud.”
