IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 16, 2007, Mooresville, N.C. - A.J. Frank and the Camping World/The Works/Coastal Medical Associates/Mac Hill Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo No. 56n team wrapped up the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Sears Auto Center Northern Division’s regular season on a high note, finishing eighth in the Aug. 11 Miller Lite 250 at South Boston (Va.) Speedway and fifth in Northern Division point standings.
“That was our goal tonight,” Frank said after the race, “to finish fifth in points. The pit crew has been doing a good job for me all year and they deserve the honor of being in the Pit Crew Challenge at the end of the year; I’m real happy for those guys.
“I don’t think I got any of the Clean Team bonuses tonight,” Frank continued, “but nonetheless it’s been an honor to be part of The Clean Team this year.”
After qualifying 17th, Frank charged his way toward the front from the start and flirted with the top five before settling for a solid top-10 finish.
“We just fought a real tight racecar tonight. It was real tight in the center. All night I was doing stuff to try to free it up, but it ended up just making me free off the corner. We hung on to what we could, and finished eighth.”
